Dear members of SABS I'd like to draw your attention to an event about Big Data and Big science taking place on 8th May in Johannesburg, South Africa. `The event aims to raise awareness and foster networking for big instrumentation facilities like Synchrotrons. Guest speakers will discuss the impact of such facilities on scientific topics like food security, natural and cultural heritage, material sciences, and biomedicine in South Africa. We are also hosting a special Think Tank session for postgraduates and researchers to develop project proposals for Synchrotron facilities. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications and we hope to see you there. South African labs and researchers are invited to showcase their work through poster presentations featuring X-ray or neutron analytical techniques.` ´´Register now to attend in-person or on-line on the following link: https://witsapps.wits.ac.za/student/open/forms/start/ada7cba3-322f-413c-8228 -360fff73c30b ´´ Although the event title is aimed at South Africa, there are no restrictions from which countries participants may come from, so I think it is worth attending the hybrid attendance meeting for all researchers in Africa who are interested in access to Big Research Facilities. Best regards, MOSBRI TNA Manager Søren Vrønning Hoffmann AU-SRCD, Aarhus University This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101004806
